SCORE Project Trainer Team delivered the national training session in Frankfurt, Germany. Julie Mackintosh and Katharine Taylor from sports coach UK, in charge of the toolkit work package and facilitators of the training sessions, together with Sara Massini, Project Coordinator, held the sixth of the 8 national training sessions in Frankfurt on 11h June 2016. Representatives from different sport governing bodies such as baseball and softball, alpine club, Taekwondo, power lifters, handball, rowing, cycling, football and underwater federation gathered together to discuss on good practices, barriers and obstacles related to gender equality in coaching.
The training sessions have the general objective to raise awareness and educate the representatives of sport federations to use properly the “awareness pack” toolkit, outcome of the first phase of the project. The “awareness pack” contains tools for sport organisations to create a more gender equal environment and facilitate the access of women into coaching. The toolkit contains also tools targeted to women who are interested in coaching. The final version will be edited collecting also the feedback of participants of all training sessions ending in June 2016.
The last two national training sessions will take place in Portugal on 16th of June 2016 and in Lithuania on 1st of July 2016.
"Strengthening Coaching with the Objective to Raise Equality" – SCORE is a European project supported by the Erasmus+ Sport Programme and led by ENGSO. It brings together 13 key partner organisations. SCORE promotes gender equality in coaching, and focuses on increasing the number of employed and volunteer female coaches at all levels of sport as well as enhancing knowledge on gender equality in coach education. The SCORE project is a two-year project and will be finalised by the end of 2016.
